Yeah wheelies would be easy like that, but the motor vibrations would break the u-bolts holding the axle to the leaf springs, as I don’t see how you could have the axle stay steady and aligned enough just using the motor mounts even though it’s all one unit. A cool concept but I don’t think it’d work for too long without repairs.

the leafs didnt even break the bolts rusted and broke and so did the mounts the fiberglass wasnt that bad of a idea at least you dont have to worry about it rusting

Oh really, well yeah after I thought about it, soild mount would be rather rough, but its not like half of his cars dont have busted suspension, but you’re right, not a good idea. Locked rear in ambulance, if I remember right, I think it was, I think they put in a detroit locker in it, its just been soo long ago!!! Later man!

I just saw another vid by Rickem, where Dave talks about just getting some “new” steel springs from the scrap yard.. Those will work, and for farming off road, now that I think about it, the solid axle might not be the best idea lol. I would guess a fall from up there would hurt a bit, and Im sure the the pole woulden’t put up with that amount of abuse. Either way I remember Jesse’s ambulance was farkin awsome!! Did they lock the rear in that?

  11. 76hotrodF250 says:

Joker, Yes you are 100% right, Jesse James did the same thing with his Monster Garage Wheelie Popping Ambulance, course the motor was also rear mounted, but if he welds the frame and the axle up as one, it will pop some Monsterous wheelies!! Right ON!!!

  12. grizzleypeak says:

Fiberglass leafsprings? Is there any crappy shortcut GM won’t try? AirBag suspension would make for some fun redneck riding! That big ol’ fart can from rickems vid. sticking through the hood is going to kick ass with the V8!!! Don’t forget the rain cap!

  13. Squirrelsteam says:

Just go get a ford 9″ rear end at the junkyard.

  14. dumbamerica says:

astro vans were 100% pure GM shit-boxes.

  15. hacamatpro says:

    nice car asshole

  16. lucasnelson08 says:

don’t spend money on it. just weld your old setup back together. but be sure to get your drive line angles right.

  17. asayle3r5 says:

Why not just weld in a little a-frame for a fixed rear axle for better wheelies?

  18. longbeachmustangkid says:

that van is done….trust me I know from experience……if your frame requires welding you might as well just junk the van because it’ll never be the same….that happened in my 93′ Mustang

  19. phaedrus44 says:

Man, vehicles sure do rust up there! Living in Taxifornia sucks otherwise, but at least our cars stay intact longer…

  20. TBWdracula2003 says:

    station*

  21. TBWdracula2003 says:

alright bring it to troy montana and we’ll do it at the weight stating

  22. 00039631 says:

Actually the best bet is to just weld the axle solid to the frame, he has enough metal to do that. It wont have any rear suspension, but that would be best for wheelies.

  23. blaquknite63 says:

your best bet is prolly to go to junkyard and get S-10 rear end. will be cheaper then brand new setup and will be stronger.

  24. gittyupalice96 says:

yea i know right! the new redneck machines deserve the highest of quality, not this fiber glass leaf shit! xD

  25. zakattack467 says:

dracula, did you see the ford aerostar van in the other video? dont you think if it wasnt such a nice car they wouldnt of destroyed it? atleast this car is still running.. and no van is made to do wheelies. lol, btw ill take up your offer of me pulling you pos truck around a parking lot.
