How can I get over my embarrassment of my hugely redneck family?

Ok so I’m the complete opposite of them and so are my friends and boyfriend. I’ve been putting off my boyfriend meeting them because he’s from a rich educated family and even though he’s nice, he’s a bit snobbish. I’m from southern India and my family is the definition of redneck. I love them but I don’t what my boyfriend or friends to think badly of me!
Anyone that judged you based on your family isn’t true friends and I wouldn’t want them in my life anyway. Most of us have family members we are embarrassed by. Everyone I know understands this and makes the best of any situation. If your embarassed by your own roots and what made you what you are, and so is your boyfriend, then you belong together.
Well you need to remember your boyfriend is not with your parents, HE IS WITH YOU! Is it really possible to be that embarrassed of your family. So what if the families are from opposite side of the track. If it is that big of a deal then keep the visit short and sweet for now and then gradually add or delete time with each visit. And if your boyfriend thinks badly of you for your family then is he really worth it? GOOD LUCK
Remember just be who you are, but so are the rest of them!!!!!
Haha screw what your boyfriend says (if he thinks badly of them). Family is forever, boys are whatever right? But seriously if he really wants to be with you he wont really care that your family are rednecks. Besides rednecks have way more fun!! You should be more like them!! Haha jk. If he cant stand your family es not right for you. k
