I have had Great success with 5 gallon metal buckets! I drill one hole in the center, and then put the heat to it! Once the gas has burned off I cover the hole with a centercap, and place sand or dirt around it! This makes perfect Charcoal!

LOL…this is the funniest video about charcoal making I’ve ever seen!!! I rated 5 STAR
Welding without mask, opening the container while it’s still hot, setup the massive fuel prior to burn… you name it!
    Oh boy, this is hillarious…

  13. 1Benzy says:

btw u messed up dude. your supposed to wait until it cools down or else the oxygen will turn the charcoal into ash

  14. 1Benzy says:

a big pile of shit lol :)

  15. UGLandrum says:

I garuntee if you weld with your eyes closed and have no mask or hood on, when you wake up the next morning it will feel like someone cramed sand in you eyes, and rubbing them when they are burning and itchy will only make them worse! It sucks ass bad, I am a welder and I learned the hard way, wear a mask when tacking up a weldment. (at least thats how it happend to me) I know better even then to wear a mask when welding out a weldment. WEAR APPROPRIAT WELDING GEAR AT ALL TIMES!

if the hole for the gases has a flame coming out of it for a little while while your making the charcoal is it ruined, even only if there is a flame for a short amount of time?

  17. iknowad says:

My friend makes his own chacoal like that.

  18. agent00redneck says:

    Haha.

  19. theoriginalSkooby says:

Some people aren’t educated enough about welding to realize that you need to protect your eyes or close them when welding. You might consider an annotation so that some city slicker doesn’t go blind.

  23. VictoryGasworks says:

    Guilty as charged

  24. matthbva says:

MIG welding without a helmet or even goggles. You really are a redneck — even if you did close your eyes!

  25. VictoryGasworks says:

That is a great idea. What works well too is running an open top (stratified) gasifier with a weak blower. The volitiles are removed and the charcoal is high quality when the cubes are cut to 2 x 2 inches. Its fast (45 min) and consumes about the same amount of wood in the end.
