Is it considered redneck to put a flag pole and American flag at your home?

I got one for my husband and told my older friend we’d put it up over the weekend. She called me a redneck! We do live in southern Louisiana.

Uh… since when is the american flag redneck? A confederate flag, yes, thats redneck. An American flag is patriotic. Your friend is a retard.

As long as its not smothered in ham hock juice and surrounded by broken car parts it isnt.

I’m with Matt, the American flag is a sign of being proud of your country nothing at all to do with being a redneck. By the way is your older friend a damn Yankee?

Kindly tell ur ‘friend’ that it’s called being an A-m-e-r-i-c-a-n-. say it slo so they get it, have crayons and paper on hand in case they still have trouble with it.
Last resort: send them to some commie, down trodden, god forsaken country for a while.
Chances are when they come back (if they can get out of the country) they’ll GET IT!!

The only thing that would make it redneck is if it is not flown properly. In other words, taken down, folded and put away properly each evening and raised up the flagpole proudly again every morning. Flown at half-staff when it is sadly necessary. There is such a thing as flag etiquette. Only a true patriot would care enough to treat the American flag with the respect and dignity it deserves.
