Writing on behalf of tall folks – we know we are tall and it doesn’t make us feel any better to be constantly reminded of it. I am sick and tired of being told “Is it cold up there? So how tall are you anyway?” OR “Was your mother a giraffe? If I were obese, I can’t believe people would say to me “Wow you are fat – how much do you weigh?”
I can’t say that I enjoy being considerably taller than most others in my company and it must be particularly difficult for ladies to deal with, especially when with shorter men who are embarrassed by a ladies height. Combined with issues like not being able to get clothing that fits, not being able to fit into cars, aeroplanes etc, having bad backs and more – being extra tall has many drawbacks.
Written in the hope that readers will be sympathetic to the plight of tall people, maybe folks will think twice before they next ask “How’s the weather up there?”. We know we are unusually tall – please don’t keep reminding us!

Being tall is great in many ways. However there are disadvantages to being tall also. Some people like to poke fun at tall people by making jokes that reference their height. Tall jokes can be entertaining, but can also be a cause of hurt to tall people. How to deal with this is important to maintaining self esteem.

Often driven by jealousy, making jokes about a tall persons height is an all too common occurrence. Sometimes delivered with deliberate intent to cause hurt, but sometimes in innocent fun, tall people must learn to live with hearing jokes about their height. Tall males are in a better position to emotionally deal with handling this type of scenario as society deems being tall to be a desireable quality in males. Going back to man being a hunter gatherer type animal, being tall represented more opportunity to survive the challenges that prehistoric life presented. Hence taller men usually carry a level of confidence that allow them to deal with a tall joke scenario.

Tall ladies may also be subjected to attempted ridicule over their height. Likewise it’s important that they are emotionally equipped to have the strength to deal with such juvenile behaviour as using jokes about tall folks. Tall ladies should be proud of their tall stature, but may also choose to be cognisant of their clothing so as not to over play their height. At all times they must keep in mind that the advantages of being tall far outweigh the disadvantages of being tall. Hence coping with the occasional tall person joke should be seen as one of those occasional hazards of being tall.

If you choose to tell jokes about tall ladies or gentlemen in public, be aware of the hurt they could cause. Most times it will be innocent fun between friends and us tall people will not take offence, especially if we are not within earshot. But think before you joke about tall people. For some inoffensive jokes about tall people and lots more on the joys of being tall, please go to http://www.beingtall.com

Practical jokes are the kind of jokes where a prank is plotted on an individual who does not know about the joke. Practical jokes always comprise of some action and thus cannot be distinguished as word jokes. They are simple pranks, which aim to bring a smile to the faces of people without hurting the person chosen as the target. Pranks can be placed at different locations like school, college, the work place and at home. Various categories can be used to describe the different kinds of practical jokes.

The first form of practical jokes makes use of the telephone or the computer. Phone jokes can also be termed a crank calls where the individual pretends to play the role of someone else in order to play the prank on the target. One may ask some ludicrous questions or use word play in order to play the trick and make the recipient say something obscene. Intercom calls and call alarms may also be used for playing a prank.

The main aim of playing phone practical jokes is to simply fool the recipient and enjoy the funny replies given by them. On the other hand, there are computer jokes where the individual may either send a funny or stupid email to the target. Other things that may be included in computer pranks are computer alarms, startling noises or use of software which shows startling images. One may also turn the home screen upside down or make the computer appear to malfunction in order to scare the recipient.

The next category of practical jokes includes visual deception. These kinds of jokes comprise of small tricks like prank envelopes, open salt bottles, short sheeting a bed, and ruining food with pepper. Such pranks usually bring out a sudden response from the recipient and produce unexpected results. Visual deception jokes involve plotting a prank in such a way that the recipient is unable to detect any change in the situation. Such jokes are generally played with people who have a set routine and do the same things every day.

Puns are another form of practical joke that can be played with friends and families. A pun comprises of a play on words where one can take advantage of the similarities between words and phrases. They can be played on any topic or issue, which is light and funny. They can be enjoyed not only by the individual alone but also with the whole group.

Whatever the type of practical joke, care should be taken to perform only practical jokes that are good spirited and played only for some fun and enjoyment. No prank should be played to hurt the recipient. It is also essential for the individual to consider the possible psychological effects of the prank on the recipient. This will help ensure that the prank will only have good effects and not hurt the target.

Always play a joke that can be enjoyed without having any negative effects on the recipient and once the joke is over, the air between the two people must be cleared to ensure friendly relations again.

When life gets too tough to handle, people have different ways of overriding the problems and stress brought about by mountain-high price of gasoline, traffic, annoying neighbors or pesky people at work. Commonly, people freak out, spend impulsively or go to a shrink to cope with problems. But for those who want to change the cycle, instead of pulling their hair, they just sit down and turn on the television to hear some downright funny jokes by famous comedians. In the words of Woody Allen, “life doesn’t imitate art, it imitates bad television”.

Famous comedians like Woody Allen, Dave Chappelle, Dane Cook Jones, Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld and Sarah Silverman are just some of the bunch of people who have made a living (and some considerable amount of cash to boot) out of making fun of life, and well, other people. They can even make poverty, unemployment or death sound so unbelievably hilarious that you would forget that they are the causes of your misery. We can definitely say that they make the motherloads of motherloads by biting life back with a wide grin on their rich faces through their comedy jokes.

Dave Chappelle once talked about racism and being robbed in one of his shows in Comedy Central. Iironically, he garnered a lot of laughs out of making fun of the often scary and demeaning situation he was in:

“Somebody broke into my house once. This is a good time to call the police, but mm mm, nope. The house was too nice. It was a real nice house, but they’d never believe I lived in it. They’d be like ‘He’s still here!’ Whack! ‘Oh my god. Open and shut case, Johnson. I saw this once when I was a rookie. Apparently this ni**er broke in and put up pictures of his family everywhere.’ Dave! Relax! Close your buttcheeks!” -Dave Chappelle (mustsharejokes.com)

Jerry Seinfeld has been famous for playing himself in the long-running comedy (which already ended) show aptly named, Seinfeld. Now, most television actors could win an Emmy by playing any character but themselves. However, Jerry is no ordinary comedian. He won Emmy’s for talking about himself, his friends and of course, making fun of every situation in his life from the most mundane to political correctness. In one of his jokes, he was able to give a more positive view about losing:

“The Olympics is really my favorite sporting event. Although I think I have a problem with that silver medal. ‘Cause when you think about it, you win the gold-you feel good, you win the bronze-you think ‘Well, at least I got something.’ But when you win that silver it’s like ‘Congratulations, you ‘almost’ won. Of all the losers, you came in first of that group. You’re the number one loser. No one lost ahead of you!” –Jerry Seinfeld. (mustsharejokes.com)

So next time, life hands you crap, just smile, breathe, and start laughing the crap away at comedy jokes. Remember, you’re not traversing this wretched world alone. After all, these comedians can’t joke about life’s problems without having faced them themselves.

GO LAUGH!

A graduate of Computer Engineering and loves to travel. Reading current news in the internet is one of his past times. Taking pictures of the things around him fully satisfies him. He loves to play badminton and his favorite pets are cats.

The mere act of getting a tattoo could introduce the “Tramp Stamp” mantra by many people, and there are those who just can’t resist the opportunity to openly verbalize something negative about anyone with tramp stamp tattoos pics (they can kiss my rebel redneck azz ) – and the more tattoos you have, the more negative the comments concerning that little tramp stamp tattoo . Is there any justification for their pampas attitude? Hell No! (I’m being nice here, in case you didn’t guess.)

There is a relationship, in some people’s minds, between a tattoo and violence. This may be understandable (considering some folks just have to let that alligator mouth overload their hummingbird ass.), but having a tattoo/tramp stamp tattoo in and of itself does not make anyone in particular a violent individual. The root cause of this mis-conception may be the result of too many ‘Alligator mouths’. There is no doubt that some violent people have tattoos, but this does not (by any stretch) mean that tattooed people are more violent or proportionally more violent than anyone else. It is not uncommon for someone with no tattoos at all to initiate a confrontation with someone who has several tattoos. Quite a few people with tattoos are, in fact, very much opposed to violence.

There are those who prejudge the female gender and apply the “tramp stamp”. There is an assumption (and not necessarily just by men) that women with a tattoo/tramp stamp tattoo are sexually promiscuous. The idea is that, if they draw attention to a particular area, they must want the area to be explored more vigorously. My answer to them is, I wouldn’t recommend saying so directly to a woman with such a tattoo. Those who do may wind up counting a few bruises and re-thinking that assumption (can you say ‘azz whoppin’ ).

Having a tattoo/tramp stamp tattoo or many tattoos, even a body covered with tattoos, does not make you stupid, violent, promiscuous or any of the other negative labels – no more than wearing a hat makes you a cowboy or adding a feather to the hat makes you a Native American Indian. Simply put, you are and will always be who you are if you do or do not have a tattoo/tramp stamp tattoo. Labeling is simply immature, odious and just plain offensively jejune.

Also, is there a video of this joke online? I’m also a comedian with a similar joke and want to make sure I’m not using any of his punchlines. Thanks!
