They’re ignorant. I listen to country music and have heard that too. Ignorance.

you are worried about that?and what do you call them for listening to rap or rock or r&b or metal or whatever genre they prefer?why should you worry about it,or does it make you feel ashamed? come on,quit it already.i have to think that you are a younger person trying to fit in with a certain crowd or even trying to impress someone.the only person that you have to live with 24 hours a day and satisfy 100% of the time is you.as long as you are satisfied and at peace with yourself, what others may say should be of no importance to you.besides,it would be a dull world if everyone thought and felt the same, and liked the same things.look at those around you,and be proud of your differences.

People stereotype people who listen to country music as rednecks. Its all a part of the common mis-judgments in stereotype. Kind of like how people who listen to rap are assumed to be thugs…its all people making judgments without proper knowledge..

I could care less what people think about what I listen to. I was insulted for listening to country music when I was six years old (while everyone else was listening to the Beatles), so I’ve heard first graders’ rants before.

  5. Me says:

Yep but who cares? I been called far worse.

    As Charlie Daniels once sung:

What most people call a redneck
Ain’t nothin’ but a workin’ man
    And he makes his livin’
By the sweat of his brow
And the calluses on his hands
Now you intellectuals may not like it
But there ain’t nothin’ that you can do
Cause there’s a whole lot more of us common-folks
Then there ever will be of you

    Stereotype. Stereotype. Stereotype.
Now I’m afraid what they’ll call me because I listen to classical, plus many other types of music in my generation. But Im’ not worried.

  7. *~LuvBug916~*_<3_:~) says:

Don’t worry about that! It is like Montgomery Gentry “What do you think about that”! People call me redneck because any chance I get I listen to country music I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Todd says:

There’s nothing wrong with being a redneck. Wear it like a badge of honor. As Alan Jackson says in one of his songs: “It’s good to be a redneck”.

  9. CarolinaGirl says:

there is a very big difference between country and redneck. they haven’t learned enough about the world just yet to understand that difference. so, no worries. let it roll off your back… because whether they know it or not, their show of ignorance is much more redneck than your preference for country music :)
